Originally incorporated as a Borough in 1895, Wildwood is known for more than a few things such as the Wildwoods Shore Resort Historic District, which was originally home to over 200 motels, that we built during the Doo-Wop era of the 1950s-60s, to serve the tourists brought in off the newly finished Garden State Parkway. The term was “doo-wop” was to describe the fantastically unique, space-age architectural style, of the motels and was coined by Cape May’s Mid-Atlantic Center For The Arts in the 1990s.

And, as for the claim to fame, of being the ‘Birthplace of Rock n’ Roll’… that likely comes from the fact that Billy Haley & His Comets performed ‘Rock Around The Clock’ – considered by name to be the first rock and roll album – on Memorial Day weekend in 1954 at the HofBrau Hotel in Wildwood.

But, that is just scratching at the surface! Wildwood has a lot more to offer than just history! Let us show you a few of our favorite wedding venues in the Wildwood, NJ area!

Seaport Pier

Seaport Pier is North Wildwood’s only beachfront and family-friendly bar & grill. As well as being a live-music venue and private swim club right on the Wildwood Boardwalk! It was made possible with the support of the Mayor Patrick Rosenello in 2017, with the help of the BG Capital group, a development firm based out of Philadelphia.

With multiple different event spaces, with different feels and themes available, and space to host up to 2000, Seaport Pier can truly do it all! And, they do it with a delicious & extensive menu and panoramic views of the ocean. Where else can you say you got married in a ‘Dive Bar’ and mean a huge, bright, clean, contemporary, fresh restaurant?!

Icona – Diamond Beach

Icona – Diamond Beach is on the quiet side of town, and offers one of the only private beaches in New Jersey. Also of note is that fact that Icona is one of only a few hotels in the Wildwood Crest area that are open all year-round, this upscale Wildwood, NJ, hotel overlooks Diamond Beach, and features sparkling clean, “feel-the-ocean-breeze” interiors, and spacious suites, which will be perfect for your bridal party and any out-of-town guests looking to stay the night. And, the next morning, beach attendants will set up chairs and umbrellas for your guests to get outside and enjoy the sand and surf!

With 5 different event spaces, both indoor and alfresco, big and intimate, you can have the wedding of your dreams, whatever those dreams may be! And, once you get to dinner, the in-house culinary team at Icona, will deliver mouth-watering cuisine that will wow your guests! Delicious!

The Bolero Resort

For starters, The Bolero Resort is centrally located right in the heart of Wildwood, and is just steps from the beach and boardwalk. And we know for certain – having been to many ourselves – that the event team at The Bolero Resort has hosted hundreds of previous events, which should ease your mind, and reassure you that you’ll be in good hands.
