Mcguire’s Millrace Farm is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The small town of Murphy, NC is conveniently located 2 hours from major cities. These cities include Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Asheville. The family run farm has a deep attachment to their history. The farm has remained in the family since the 1800s. Tommy and Linda are now the owners keeping the family tradition alive. With loving hands, this farm has gone from being a grist mill to a serene event space.
The Barn
The barn stands out as being among one of the most awe inspiring structures we have worked in. Its architecture is unique and handcrafted. The family has kept the style of the original barn while updating the interior. This old world style is rustic, yet refined. The stairs leading up to the loft create levels that when decorated will take your breath away. One of the amenities Mcguire’s Millrace Farm offers is one of a kind decor. The space can be utilized in any way you see fit. With 8,000 sq. ft. to play with, the space will look immaculate when decorated.
The Grounds
You will want to spend all your time exploring the 100+ acres that make up Mcguire’s Millrace Farm. The arched foot bridge going over a tranquil pond is the perfect setting for the golden hour photos. Guests will love to walk though the flower gardens during cocktail hour. The majestic rows of river birch trees give the rejuvenating feeling of being nature. The handcrafted solid wood arbor is beautiful for the outdoor ceremony. The Floral Designs
One of the best amenities offered at Mcguire’s Millrace Farm is the floral designs. The custom arrangements are offered in house by the family’s oldest daughter, Amanda. Her husband, Tomas, built the venue, Millhouse Lodge, and their home on the family property. It really has been an all-in-the-family business! Amanda’s designs are stunning and set this venue apart. The detail that goes in the bouquets and the arbor are unlike any other. The arrangements are always unique and match your wedding’s atmosphere.
