Fairways For Miles

There are absolutely many, many unique and scenic areas for weddings in North Carolina. We should know, we’ve been to most of them. That’s the job description when you’re a mobile wedding DJ.

We’re not complaining though. One of the best parts of our job is being a part of celebrations across North and South Carolina. We’ve seen receptions and parties of all shapes and sizes. From mountain-themed to full-blown raves. And it’s always a very cool honor to be invited to host one of the biggest days in a couple’s life. We love visiting all the different cities, hearing the personalized music choices, and meeting couples and other vendors alike.

One venue type we’ve grown particularly fond of over the years are country clubs. It’s hard to go wrong with that aesthetic. And, in our experience, they’ve been some of the easiest venues to set up and coordinate in. And the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst was definitely no exception to that.

Not only was the clubhouse itself picturesque, and views of the courses were out of this world. After asking around a little bit, we found out that they have over 2,000 acres of golf courses. 2,000 acres. That’s miles of green. And from the clubhouse you could look out and see some of the more scenic areas. All of this definitely made for a great-lookin’ Pinehurst wedding venue.

Couldn’t be happier with Caleb and Dow Oak Events! Working with them made everything soooo easy. And after talking to Caleb a few times before the big day we were confident things would go amazingly. And they did!! He was so good at playing the right music at the right time. We had people coming up to us afterwards saying they had the BEST time. Do yourself a favor and book Dow Oak Events.

A Musical Variety

While we appreciate a good wedding venue as much as the next person, it’s still mostly about the music. We are DJs, after all. And often, the receptions that stand out the most to us (thus the ones we write about) are the ones with unique and personal music choices. And this was one of those times.

One choice that stood out to us in particular was Prince’s “Purple Rain” as the last song. It was definitely an awesome way to end an awesome day. But there were other musical moments that stood out to us as well.

The Must Play list had so many songs we love but are rarely requested. From “Once in a Lifetime” by the Talking Heads to “Modern Love” by David Bowie to “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles. And not only did we get to play the songs, but all the guests were getting down to them. Nothing warms our DJ hearts more than a packed dancefloor. Which was definitely the case here.

One of the cooler moments of the night was when we played ’80s banger “Take On Me” (from the Must Play list). It’s one of those “you hear the first note and recognize it immediately” songs. Which is exactly what happened.

Overall, it was definitely a very good day. For Dow Oak Events and for Thomas and Shiyu.

Final Thoughts

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

In conclusion, we’ve learned that being a wedding DJ near Fayetteville isn’t just about playing the music. So we take our role seriously. Facilitating such a big day is a serious job! That’s why we always give every wedding or event our all.
